Azam Khan has been coached and mentored by his father Moin Khan since the beginning of his career. When it comes to keeping, Azam follows former Pakistan keeper Rashid Latif closely.

He played in U16 and U19 state tournaments until 2016, after which he played in Dallas Premier League before returning to Pakistan. Then in 2018, Azam Khan made his List A debut. He represented Pakistan Television in the Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup 2018/19. It was an eight-wicket victory for the team over Multan in that match. As a wicketkeeper, he had two catches that day for the team. In that match, he did not bat.

Azam Khan hit three consecutive sixes against Shahid Afridi in PSL, in that match, he scored 38 runs off just 10 balls. This helped him gain a place in Pakistan’s international squad for the tour of England. He played his first T20I in the same series on 16th July 2021, and after that, he played two more T20Is.

In 2021, he was selected for the Men’s T20 World Cup squad but didn’t get a chance to play.
