Ishita appeared for the UPSC exam for the third time, but she reached the interview stage for the first time. She couldn’t pass the preliminary exam in her first two attempts, but that didn’t discourage her. She continued to work hard and finally, in her third attempt, she not only passed the country’s toughest examination but also stunned everyone by securing the All India Rank-1 (UPSC Rank AIR-1). In her third attempt, she excelled in the preliminary stage, followed by the mains, and ultimately in the interview as well.
Ishita has achieved the top rank, and now she can choose any of the three services: Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), or Indian Police Service (IPS). However, Ishita had already decided beforehand that she wants to become an IAS officer, and she has been confident since the time she started preparing for the exam that she would be selected. Now, she will choose the option of IAS. After her selection, she also stated to the media, “I will succeed, that was my complete belief, but becoming the topper is a delightful surprise for me.”
After completing her graduation, Ishita started her job as a Risk Advisory in a private multinational company, Ernst & Young. She had the potential to excel in that job as well, but she made civil services her goal and left her job to start her preparation.
